Drove out early this morning in search of our quarry. Road hunting is serious business. Glassed up some critters somewhere out here:

There wasn’t a lot of terrain to work with but if we were careful, we should be able to get in range.

After an epic sneak, the moment of truth...

Sometimes you have to do what you can, with what you have, where you are. Happy waterfowl opener!

Nice! I always take forever to sneak into a flock of mallards and think this is it! then empty my gun but nothing falls. Me+shotgun+duck=happy duck

Gotta admit, not what I was expecting when I opened the thread. But, very cool spin on spot and stalk. Congrats.
Gotcha 😉 Impatiently waiting for rifle seasons.

There’s plenty of that here too. They aren’t always where you thought they were once you get there 🤣 Would rather hunt fat mallards in a field just before freeze-up, but we made our own fun today. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've seen lots of ducks on those prairie ponds while chasing mulies. Some day I'm gonna do the same, ran across one loaded with ducks one year.

I love jump shooting ducks. Wish our ponds had more water. it has been a dry last several months.

an average of 2 birds per stalk? That's some next level ninja skills right there. Nice work congrats.
