Wax and clean on the reg but they are 7/8 years old. I’d like to get another season or 2 before they fail. Is it possible to fix these cracks or just keep wearing and buy a new pair sooner?

There's things you could probably try to prolong the life. But my guess is they need to be replaced. Contact the manufacturer and see if they have any recommendations.

I just picked up my first pair of synthetic crispis. We'll see if I can avoid some of the issues that come with leather boots. I've always had leather prior to these.

Leather gets old and cracks. Keeping them conditioned helps.

My rebuilt Lowa's still has the cracks. But they are 8 years of daily wear.
Trying a mostly syn, boot for 1st time now. Lowa's.
This is minus the rubber boots and wader stuff. Not much need in NM.

I'd smear it with Aquaseal and see if that works to get you through another year or two.

Are they leaking? Those cracks look pretty minor at this point, what I usually do is get a new pair to use just for hunting, use the old ones for hiking/training, dry weather, etc. I also make sure to clean all the residual wax off when greasing because it traps dirt and wears the leather out even though they're waxed.

No leaking yet. The cracks are probably only 50% of the way through.

To me, those cracks are more like wrinkles. But that might be my age showing. Boots look like boots to me - keep wearin' em!

Took aquaseal to cracks. After cleaning out nikwax I found the boots were worse off. My right sole is starting to separate in the middle. I put the sealant on the affected areas. I’d say the soles will fail before the leather at this rate. Oh well bought em in 17 or 18.

Aquaseal SR (shoe repair) is well-suited for leather boot repair. Clean the surface with a toothbrush and alcohol before applying. Need to get off any sealants to get a good bond.
