Which one have you guys been using on your hunting bows?Just picked up another bow and want to put a black gold on it.Saw them at Cabelas and they look like they are made well.I've been using a spott hogg 5 pin on my other bows.Trying to decide on a decent sight that holds up to hunting without breaking the bank
thanks

I used the Ascent last year. Loved it.

This year, I might try the Vengeance. Working on the new bows next week and will finalize that.

In past years I used the Flash Point HD.

All of those have worked very well for us. Any misses were always operator error. We beat the crap out of them, haul them around all over the west, and they never break or have any problems.

Some guys on this site who are amazing archers (me being a hack) use these sights and can probably chime in with even more comments and ideas.

Provided links for all the models I have used. A lot of it will come down to personal preference and the situation you most often find yourself in. They make a sight for most every application.

And, they are made right here in Montana.

Good luck.

Never have had any problems with my flash point. Been using them for 5 years now. Mine is all beat up and still works great. I had my old bow blow up in my hand and the sights were just fine. Definitely recommend.

I was going to buy the Flash Point but got talked into the Rush that came out last year. The sight worked great and with the addition of the "Blind Man" light it works really well out of my double bull. I had an Extreme sight on before the Rush that would break fibers. Nothing came loose and nothing broke using my sight last year and I was using it in single digit temps. The pins were easy to see outside of the blind in legal hours and with good snow cover. I really like the sight and would buy another Black Gold product without hesitation.

My son shoots the Rush and I shoot the Asent to get a longer shot option. Always have used BG with no issues. I would call them and special order u a sight. You can piece it together using other BGBG sight parts. Also choosing the color and size of your pins. They can have it put together and shipped the same day.

The flashpoint looks real nice.Think thats the one for me.For you guys using the single pin, ascent, any problems with taking time to dial in yardage esp. if the animals moving.I've thought about the single pin, just worried about having time and the movement issues with adjusting yardage.Be nice to dial in longer shots though when needed;antelope hunting

I use the Ascent as well..but went w/ 5 pins. That way I can still have my fixed yardage out to whatever I choose, and my last pin is adjustable. Can always remove/add pins also by going that route. I've loved it so far.

I put a five pin Surge head on to an Ascent base. The advantage of the Surge head is the micro-adjustable pins and 2nd axis adjustment. I also customized pin colors and sizes, making the the 1st, 3rd, and 5th pins green and the 2nd and 4th Red. Avoid the yellow, it seems to disappear in certain light conditions. If I did it again I'd do all green except the middle one, it seems green is the easiest for my eyes to pick up. I also used the medium sized(I think .19) for the first 4 and the smallest (.10) on the last pin for the longer distances. I have one yardage scale for the last pin, 60 to 120 yards, and a yardage scale for my first pin for precise yardage adjustment 20 to 60 yards.

Order a custom black gold from A1 archery today.Tried to custom one on line and they sent me to A1 for a better price.Thought that was a little strange. Can't wait to put it on my bow thats being worked on at the shop now. Then I have to decide which bow takes the flight to Africa with me in 2 months

I guarntee you will be happy with it.

Is that the A1 Archery in Hudson, WI? If so that is who I ordered mine through as well. If you haven't dealt with those guys before you will like them. IMO, probably the best shop in the twin cities.

I did mine with an Ascent base and 3 pin surge head (for the micro adjust pins and 2nd axis adjustment. I love it, best sight I have ever owned by a long shot.
