Spring Elk Survey
FWP Bitterroot wildlife biologist, Craig Jourdonnais, will present results from
the 2012 spring elk survey. This aerial survey involves over 20 days and nearly 100
hours of flying. Jourdonnais will also discuss current elk/carnivore management
and potential proposals for 2012/13 big game hunting season.
DRS. Kelly Proffitt, FWP lead reseracher and Mark Hebblewhite, University of
Montana lead researcher will present current status and updates from the initial
year of the Upper Bitterroot Elk Ecology Study. This update will include calf mortality
information and an inside look at adult cow elk movements this past year.Both of these presentations will allow attendees a chance to interact
with presenters and ask questions.
