It's going to get much worse before it gets better.

The Corp of Engineers increased flows out of Garrison Dam to 85,000 cubic feet/second (CFS) today, 92,500 tomorrow, and are currently projecting 150,000 before June 15th. This could increase further as there is significantly more water coming into Lake Sakacawea than is going out and the reservoir is already full.

The city has filled about 5 million sandbags and is looking to get another 3 million filled before this Friday.

Here is a link to pics taken two days ago of Bismarck and the surrounding area at 80,000 CFS:

Three small requests. Send a prayer to the man upstairs for residents of South Bismarck, find a way to keep it from raining in eastern MT/western ND, and slow down the snowmelt in the mountains of MT!

Grizzley has been a sandbagging mofo and I am headed there now.

Ouch, looks like you and your town are in for a world of hurt.

Prayers sent.

Looks like it's going to get even uglier. Good luck Buschy, hope you can keep you and yours dry.

Sorry to see that Buschy. You can blame it on me. I have been trying to go walleye fishing in eastern, MT since the 25th, and when I make such plans, the weather usually sucks. And, it has rained every day since.

I said hell with the weather and drove up here today. Hoping to squeak in a few days of fishing. When I leave and head back to Bozeman, I suspect the weather turn to perfect fishing weather and will be in the 80's, so you can blame me for also.

Hang in there. Will make all three efforts you requested.

I spent a couple days this past weekend helping out family (Muley1) on the Mandan side. The fight seems to be headed in the right direction so hopefully all will end well. Scary stuff in western NoDak right now. Minot also has a flood fight on thier hands.

Keep up the fight Buschy, I am rooting for you boys.

Good Luck Buschy.... double the flow huh... wow. I dont think there is much we can do about the snow melting...it just has to eventually... I think??

Supposed to hit 80 here Sunday... however, after that there is a possibility we will see another trough and rain... models aren't consistent yet, so they aren't saying much...

Good luck fellas. We had some roads wash out over here in Slope County, but nothing like you guys are about to go through.

So if our government followed the Constitution and there was no such thing as Federal subsidized Flood Insurance and no such thing thing as taking tax dollars from one to pay for anothers misteaks (FEMA), would anyone actually be currently living in the flood zone?? While my heart goes out to those who have lost much, it is really the fault of the gubmint ignoring the Constitution for years!

I am a little slow, but me thinks there are ulterior motives here. Thank for the offer. ;)

Do you think that maybe the reason the laws were passed regarding flood insurance is that folks were already living in a flood zone? Heck many of our larger cities were built on flood plains due to the rivers being the best, and in some cases the only mode of moving large amounts of goods, for a long time.
