It's ok, but it is not exactly what I was hoping for. The material is very heavyweight (not heavy), and will really make your chest sweat. The accessory pockets are not large enough to carry the things I wanted to carry in them (radio and GPS at work). I had to get the size large due to the size of my glass. The binoculars are not actually attached to the pack, although you could probably rig something up. If you happen to leave the lid unbuckled and you bend over, your binos will fall out. Don't ask me how I know.
All that being said, it does protect them pretty well. It is comfortable to wear under a backpack, and I've gotten used to using it. But I'll probably be finding something different when it wears out.
