With the help, support, and guidance of @BigFin, I've taken a large step into a healthier life and marital relationship. Rather that promising to fix Mrs45's car, I called the mechanic and made an appointment to get it fixed. Afterwards, I turned to her and said, "Randy says, 'Just pay the man.' " I realize I have will not have fully mastered the technique until I can have HER call the mechanic.
Doing the a cost/benefit analysis was difficult.
1. CON -It will consumes the money I had budgeted for a complete set of Kryptek gear.
2. PRO -If it breaks down again during hunting season, it's his problem.
3. CON -She may decide she doesn't need me around here.
4. PRO -I am moving toward a guilt free 4Q2020.
5. CON -I have a lot of deferred maintenance around here. This is going to escalate.
