Posted this in Spring Bear thread but figured I would add some pictures of what I have done with him.

One shot in shoulder quartered to me at 34 yards. He spun around and died 29 yards away. 308 shooting 165 grain AccuBonds did its job! Not too much wasted meat.

We love canned meat for quick easy meals so I canned a batch.

Do you brown or cook the whole way through when you can bear meat? I always raw pack venison.
I just browned it. have always just raw packed everything but the last time I did venison I browned it and we liked it better. It adds a step and it’s a little harder to fully pack jars but it’s enough better eating I’ll be doing it every time from now on. It helps to keep some small raw chunks out to fill the voids in the jar.
