Big ol Burban

I, too, missed this the last 6 or so months and have been excited catching up on your progress! Be excited to hear if it's in a spot where you think you will be driving it out for your elk hunt this year?

Any updates @Addicting ? Miss this thread. How’s she running
Sorry, I’ve been trying to focus more on stuff around the house. Did a kitchen remodel that turned into a whole upstairs renovation.

I took it up to Northern MI and met a new tuner. He worked out the bugs with towing. We tried getting the tap shift working but without the Canbus set up we couldn’t make it work. Tried several tutorials but HP tuners is several updates since they posted the fix and things look different in the system now.

But we were able to add tow haul mode and get the shift lock up corrected. Now she runs down the road pulling just fine.

The front Chinese bearing in the transfer case failed and I have to rip that darn thing back out again. Disappointing that it has less than 5k on it and it is wore out. I ordered actual GM bearings and am set to do another rebuild on it. Dragging my feet because it’s a PIA.

It will make the trip to AZ and up to WY for Dave’s hunt. I will pull our 8k camper and put it thru the rigors of mountain driving.

Wife drove it all week and took a friend to the airport 2.5 hours away. This original pressure line blew on the way home. It then proceeded to lock up the power steering pump which threw the serpentine belt. Then it coasted into the only place on the available exit. I loaded up and headed to rescue her.

Had to go inside and arrange parking while we coordinated getting a trailer to get it home. The folks inside were cool and let stay there for a couple hours. Finally got her home about midnight.

Best cover story I’ve ever heard.

You should have traded that Chevy straight up for some sex lube and walked away. That thing is going to be nothing but a money pit until the day you send it to the scrap yard.

@Dave N yep, again….

I’ve had a couple leaks that have been bothering me. It keeps dripping down the shift motor on the transfer case. Then I started noticing trans fluid as well. At first I thought it was the red grease I used on the splines melting and dripping out. But after 5k miles it’s is still moist. So before I head to AZ it needs to be looked at. Dropped the case this morning and started chasing the issues. There was about a cup of trans fluid in the trans adapter, it should have been dry. It was a seep from around the outside of the seal. They installed it dry and the factory silicone on the outside of the seal rolled and pinched when they drove it in. It would barely seep. I popped it out, cleaned it, put some black RTV on it, and drove it back in. That will stop one leak.

The next was harder to find. The shift motor bearing has a seal in it. Come to find out there was a cut in it. Unfortunately, to get to it you have to mostly disassemble the case. New parts are on order and we will see if that takes care of it.

On the bright side you HAVE to be getting faster pulling it and re-installing! 🤷‍♂️ Hope you get it fixed this time.
