Thanks for sharing! Whitetail is what I have the most experience with myself and am new to elk. I think it'll be hard determining to try spot & stalk on elk (never been successful trying this w/ deer in IL, but had great success on a red stag in the Highlands), or stick w/ my whitetail strategies on a good travel path.

Not how you envision a western elk hunt while you're waiting all off-season, but I'm sure it was worth the wait. Even Big Fin's OTC Colorado elk hunts feel a lot like whitetail hunts. Thanks for sharing and great write-up!
