Big Bore Boar!

Very nice bear! I'm hoping for one like that in the next week. Any idea what he will score?

Great bear and story!

Any idea how a biologist was able to age him so quick? Here in Oregon we send in a tooth to be cross sectioned and it takes 6 or 8 months to hear back on the age. I would love to learn how to age them at check in as I check in bears all the time and pull the teeth etc..

They age by examining the teeth. The biologist who examined mine has spent the last 23yrs as a Grizzly specialist here in MT for USFW. Quite a job, from spring through late fall he spends 20 days in the woods trapping and collaring bears, 10 days off at home, then back into the woods. Sure beats hot tar roofing in Phoenix!
