going for 5 full days on a snowmobile checking a trapline and hunting wolves/wolverine/lynx. Since it’s after season sale time I’m wondering what kind of pants or bibs. I have a Helly Hanson ski coat and a ton of down and merino for my upper body but nothing for lower really. I have Sitka down pants but they are 3/4 length and not waterproof so would be better under some kind of shell. I have North Face ski pants that might work. Was thinking maybe wool bibs? Anyone have suggestions?

Scheels brand has some “wool”
Bibs but they look to be 25% wool? I will look at the Columbia. Can’t afford Filson although they would easily last me the rest of my life.

Carhartt Yukon bibs (the waterproof synthetic ones) are great. Wool pants are great for being quiet, but they collect a ton of snow and ice, especially when you inevitably get stuck and have to dig through the snow.

I have some cabelas bibs that work great for what you’re doing. I actually used
To do guided trapline trips in them. They are waterproof and insulated winter bins. Legs seem easy to keep warm as you use them more. Fleece is about the best pant ever for under winter bins.

I doubt these are what you are looking for but has anyone tried the truwerk t3 bibs? My carhart bibs are going to be replaced before next year. I want something comparable as far as durability and warmth but waterproof and liter in weight would be fantastic. @Dsnow9 I know you are a truwerk guy.
