What is your heaviest bear?

Estimated live weight and any species of bear.

Fall bear season is almost here for some of us!

Feel free to post a picture.

It took two tough Canadian bear guides plus myself to get him onto the hood of the 4wheeler, and two attempts at that as I lost my grip on his head on the first attempt.

Tape measure 7’2” (86 inches) x7’2”. Late spring so he wasn’t rolling in fat yet.

I've been baiting bears for friends and family for 20 or so years. Only 4 people in that time, that I've baited for have not killed a bear. One of those people, is me, I'm just snakebit when it comes to bears. Now, it's not from lack of opportunities, I've seen and passed up over a dozen of them, with the 4 tags that I've had. I missed one, a release mishap caused a high shoulder shot (not recovered, inspite of 1.5 days of looking) a hang fire with my muzzleloader resulted in a low leg shot, again not recovered after 1.5 days of looking. 5 inches of rain the day before opening day pushed a 555 pounder off my bait along a riverbottom, 3/4 a mile down the road to my neighbors, where he killed him 2nd day of season. I more or less quit after that. My last tag i never really hunted, to busy with other people I bait for and just didn't have the size coming in I was after.
I have a tag again this year, I have giant coming in, but sporadically and usually nocturnal. I most likely won't be hunting till the guy I'm baiting for is done hunting. 016579005177600-75-2-07312025024955-SYFW00181.jpg

Check out the thousand yard stare on the doggo. He does not seem thrilled with this situation.
