Bad journalism and bad practice

No reason to blame journalism:
“The following is a news release from the Idaho Department of Fish and Game.”

There are times when the "journalists" at a news paper will change things in a news release sent by a game and fish agency. I am not saying this is what happened here, just saying it does happen.

Sometimes this can cause some real issues.

Easy to find the F&G headline.

Yeah. That headline has a slightly different meaning/implication.....

Thanks.

Interesting subject. I'd say it's amazing though we know it's not an amazing means of "effective" through amplified drama to attract hits to a media release.

Hits are the qualifying factor for news outlets advertising opportunities. Ugly business though what used to be direct adverse correspondence has been replaced by internet hits/views.

I've seen BHA, RMEF, etc add spice to their headline for the intent to gain hits/interests. Fits for those drinking their Kool Aid and rationalized as a necessity to promote a "greater agenda".

I could present a few here though I don't think anyone is naive enough to believe this does not occur within our own favored journalism/conservation groups, etc.
