Cooking up a spring break trip to AZ with the family in late March. Have visited twice before, but that was pre kids. Already got tickets to see Cal Raleigh and some spring training baseball. Will probably take in the Grand Canyon for a day and might try to fish at Lees Ferry (was one of the highlights of the previous visit). Doubt we’ll go south of PHX, but interested in any must-see stuff, nice day hikes, restaurant recommendations, shed hunting hotspots, 🤣etc.

I would not try to day-trip to the Grand Canyon. If are staying at the Grand Canyon then the south rim has more choices for services and food.

You have Spring Training taken car of so here are some things to do in Phoenix metro. Golf, obviously, including Top Golf. Some easy hikes and some challenging hikes. I like hiking up Piestewa more than Camelback but each provides a nice view of the valley. Aquarium and butterfly exhibit. Music Instrument Museum. Old West Museum. Walking around Old Town Scottsdale. Botanical garden. Food places I suggest are: Gus's World Famous Hot Chicken, Salt and Straw Ice Cream, Sushi Sen, Andreoli's Italian Deli, Steak 44 and Oceans 44 (if hit the lottery and light money on fire as a hobby) and similar for Buck and Rider, Bosa's Donuts, In-n-Out for burgers for the experience, Jade Palace, Butterfield's and Butters (best pancakes I have ever had), Harlow's, and Tavern Grille.
