They're grazers, like elk. About 60% of their diet is grass. This is from last weekend. Left then pan to the right and there's more.

Is that the fence you can see there in the trees?

I've not been back there to find out, but those deer are not always in that field. Lots of times I go buy and none are in the field.

Hey Gunner46.. I used to hunt Lanai also. Used to always get a nice buck down in the valleys on the backside by the barge harbor. Best venison I ever tasted. Huli huli style!.

I just read about Lanai, is the ratio like 2-3 to 1, i.e. axis deer to people? Wow, that's lots of deer on one little island too!
