I know a lot of people on this site are against these tags but when I see the good that can come from them when used correctly I see the benefit.

Until the pneumonia is under control and the cat population is reduced considerably, I'm afraid all the release will do is provide an expensive meal for the predators. Yes, I was, and remain, against the auction tag.

Love to see more sheep around but considering how poorly that herd is doing from my limited reading that seems like a waste.

This is from the Wild Sheep Foundation Midwest Chapter page for the 2020 tag.
It just makes my brain hurt to think of the majority of that sheep auction money being spent on some private land pheasant habitat program outside someplace like Woonsocket, SD.

I am curious how pissed the 2021 auction tag winner was? I never did hear how it turned out for him. He wrote a check for $312k and a few months later the targeted herd was decimated by disease.
