I’m Xmas shopping for the boys thinking Santa might bring them some atvs this year. The boys are 4 and 7. Trying to decide if this a buy once cry once purchase or if I need to dumb it back for the 4 year old. Worried about dead batteries on the e wheelers. But the gas ones don’t seem to be able to turnt he speed down and I’d rather it be on a charger than him in a cast. Any thoughts? Most the ones I’ve been looking at be it electric or 50cc gas motor have been around a grand. Also getting parts is a huge concern

I ended up buying a Kawasaki brute force 300. I did it as a family quad and one I could take out west if I needed to that was light and small.

My boy was 8 and he had to have a helmet and was supervised in low gear. Now he is 11 and rips around on it. But it has been a great small family quad. We use it for everything.

Same for us, my boy started out on a Honda 400 with a foot shift. Started him out in first gear then let him work up to second gear. In my opinion the small ones are a waste of money because they out grow them so quick.

This is kinda what I’m looking at

Or something like this

Your money, but to me this is a waste. Find one on Facebook. Kids either crash them or out grow them so quick they end up on marketplace.

Our 9 year old grandson has been riding a snogo since 3 years old and a suzuki 90cc 4 wheeler since he 5. He's ran the heck out of the little suzuki riding it almost daily. And now we enjoy going out and the trails get pretty narley.
I'll say this. He just turned 9. Is 5-'2" tall and 125 pounds, bigger kid. That little 90cc suzuki has been a great ride and I'll highly suggest one. Has never broken down and ran hard. He also rides the standard size wheelers very well to. But I am sure he will never forget his first little wheeler.
Also, remember accidents happen. And having a small bike that kids can physically handle seems safer to us.
Hey glad you're open to getting them a wheeler. You're going to enjoy it

Back in 2020, my wife and I bought two 100 cc coolsters for our then 7 and 5 year olds. The kids beat the tar out of them with no mechanical issues. They come with a remote start/shutoff, and a governor for speed reduction/control. My kids have since outgrown them, but the wheelers are still running strong at a neighbors place.
