Just moved to Arizona this year from Kentucky. With the draws coming up soon I was wondering if anyone on here has some tips on the best units to get drawn for as a resident. Mainly just wanting to get drawn so i can hunt but don't want to be in a unit without elk. Any tips or advise would be much appreciated.

I'm by no means an expert on Arizona but my anecdotal experience is that there are elk everywhere, and Arizona is known for having some of the best elk hunting in the world (if not the best). Unless it's one of AZ's limited opportunity hunts, you'll find elk in all of the units if you work hard. Good luck.

Toprut is the easiest free tool out there to use.

Filter it for a resident and look at it in list view and you’ll see which units are drawable with less points. As previously mentioned Arizona has great elk hunting in most units, your issue is going to be drawing a tag. There aren’t any great tips, you just need to be lucky and hope they draw your number.
