Usually snows this time of year, but been getting rain showers again today.
Tried all day yesterday and a rumble made it hit the ground before sunset and rained off and on for hours. Damp soil this morning.
Just started again just now with an hour shower. Light, but better than nothing.

1st measurable weather since Dec. Maybe a quarter inch.
Another Low cell heading to the coast and 3 days forecast starting Fri.
Tropical origins.

Maybe El Nino is back and this is the break in the drought we have needed in the SW.
Lost the fruit buds that came out with one 28 degree morning.
But things are growing...

If we don't get some rain soon, I am either going to be selling cows or feeding hay this spring. I don't think we have had any measurable rain at the ranch since early winter. Had over an inch at the house this past weekend and had less than a tenth of an inch at ranch only 30 miles away. Supposed to get some again later this week. We sure need it.

I plowed my driveway once this winter and didn't really have to. Rained about 1/2 inch a couple days ago and that's it in Pa.

Hank, you sure are lucky to see elk and pronghorn at your place. That is really cool.
Beats tail lights by a mile.
Got binos on the lopes today. 11am leaving the tank. 3 bucks and 8 does.

Over estimated... .14 inches.
More tonight into Tues.
Good planting weather next week, easier digging in the bottom.
Aspens, currants and plums budding.

Green tinge to the range. Clouds building over the Mtns.

hank4elk, send that moisture up to Idaho. We are terribly dry up here. Was doesn't die from thirst will burn this summer unless something changes.

Hank, it has been strange to move to north Idaho and find myself in the midst of a drought. Supposed to rain the next few days, then some snow, too. But you have us beat for dry by a long shot.

Windshield spit on when I got home to gate @0200. Continued til I got wood & kindling in. Then just watched the show on the mtns.

Bar light on bumper a life saver. Shows the critters in dark. Need new headlights to replace the head darks on the Ford.
Cloud cover and light traffic made 40 a breeze. Got out of town asap and looked like the east part of state got some. Too bad the pie shop was packed.

Looks like some rain today. More Mon. - Wed.

My forecast. Read and weep!! Seriously though i know how this prolonged drought in the west is really, really bad. Feel for you guys.

I was able to get my plowing finished in between the rain. Havent ran a moldboard plow since the early nineties. Forgot how enjoyable it was. Neighbor had some tillable thats been pasture for about 15 years. Helping him put in a stand of clover.
