Anyone Hog hunt in South Georgia?

Does anyone hog hunt on here ? I'm in Georgia and hog hunting is a pretty big thing down here. Lots of folks I know hunt them with Pit's, Cur's, and American Bull Dogs. Most of them kill the hogs with just a knife...They let the dogs catch them and then they run up flip the hog and stck 'em or cuff them and catch them alive. I've been wanting to go since I moved to South Georgia. I've asked 1/2 a dozen guys down here that hunt hogs and they won't take me....I asked a guy today and he said NO also. He's afraid I will get hurt along with the other ones . Kinda ticks me off :MAD ... They won't give me a chance .

Hunted 'em in TX.........we dont have any in AZ.
I have heard they hunt them with a knife in Hawaii.

New Zealanders use dogs as well, then go in with a knife.

ft stewart georgia has some pretty good hog hunting.its over near savanah. gunner 46 and i have been trying to get over there and just havent been able to get together. dogs arent allowed but you could probablly team up with us if you want to stalk them. i love to hunt them with dogs and i really dont think its as dangerous as some think as long as the people in the group know there job and are capable of doing there part, i wouldnt want a 100 pound person holding a 300 pound pig while i stuck it but a 250 pound man can control a 150 pound pig pretty easy. let us know if you want to hook up otherwise good hunting.

Dog hunting is fun. Tnctcb is right though. The people need to know what they are doing. In the south expect to get wet in the process. The hogs usually head for the nastiest stuff (swamp) to rid the dogs.

I promise, we'll make it to Ft Stewart, soon. If you want to join us and give it a try, just let us know. If nothing else we can head for a place we know in Fla again and guarentee a pig for all of us!
