Has anybody ever shot a shotgun with a broken thumb on the front hand (not trigger hand)?

My son broke his left thumb this evening in his football game. |oo|oo|oo He is supposed to go on a youth dove hunt this weekend and he thinks he can still do it. Just wondering if anybody has any experience with it?

All depends on how broke is broke....If only a minor break, get a splint that immobilizes just the thumb and he should be alright. As long as it can't move, and he can stand the pain.....and he wants to go....I would take him

Just my opinion ( worked as an Emergency Room RN for a few years.....no male nurse jokes!! )

jabber, only problem would be if he is using a pump and he has to wrap the hand around the slide. but as erss said, a splint will help a lot.
