I have hunted quail, chukar and rabbits there since I live in Vegas. The deer density there is very low. I don't even apply there because I figure its worth driving up the Rubies for deer.

It's the Spring Mountains starting West of Vegas, like Red Rock, Mt. Charleston, Cold Creek.
Sorry cant help. My nephew had the youth tag over by Caliente/Pioche and I took him over there and spent several years up there working. I dont know anything about the Spring Mtns. Best of luck, maybe find some springs? Thats how I located deer for him.
