Well, if I had to put money on who will be the first coach to be sacrificed this year, I'd be putting a lot of money on John Hynes. The Mild look awful so far this year. They can't score 5 on 5. They aren't physical and they don't win faceoffs which means, once they lose the puck, they can't physically take it from the other team. They look abysmal.

Queue the firing. Hire a recycled coach. Make a furious rally and try and sneak into a wild card spot. Fall short by a hair, or make the playoffs and get your teeth kicked in.

I wouldn't be upset with a guy like Peter DeBoer, but I swear if they go with a perennial re-tread like Peter Laviolette or Torts, I'm done with Bill G.

That's MN hockey, baby.

It's been so rough watching this year. And I can't imagine they keep him much longer. Last night the first period we looked great. Then we looked like trash and got thrashed

Seemed like the whole game was played in the first period.

Still perplexed as to why Staal got a 10 min misconduct for that fight. I need to watch the replay. 5+2 I get, but I didn’t see anything he did to deserve an extra 10. Also not happy that Pitlick decided to target Chatfield’s head on that hit. We’ve been playing without 3 of our top 4 D all season, and certainly didn’t need to see another one leave and not return. Good for Staal in going after Pitlick for that.

Agree on the hit being unintentional. 5 major would have been an adequate call vs match penalty. But Staal did get 5+2+10. He spent the rest of the 1st in the locker room and more than half of the second in the box. Still not sure why.

We’ll take the win, and I hope Chatfield is OK. I txt’d my son to ask how far down on the defense depth chart the ice manager is. We once had our equipment manager dress as backup goalie, so there’s always a chance .

They added the 2 minute for instigating. I still don’t understand the extra 10. When someone takes a head shot on your last remaining top 4 defenseman, it’s pretty well expected that that there will be a response. For any goon team in the league, there would not have been an extra 10 for that. And it’s not like Staal has a reputation for bad stuff - he’s a pretty clean and respectful player.

Both of the extra 10 minutes are baffling. I don't understand it. The 5+5 and 5+2 make sense.
