Another tikka tinkering project

What made the 6 more appealing than a 25?

I like the lower recoil mainly. The 25 and 6.5 are so close with 140 in 6.5 and 134 in 25
I think Sierra will keep the 6mm cal bullets kept up in production because demand for the 6 will be a lot higher than the 25 cal bullet demand. Same for Berger. Hammer bullet option will always be there but I hate paying the prices and I like a bullet that destroys more tissue than what copper bullets do.

Can also use the hornady 243 seating die I already own so saves me a little there too

Any concern that you’re going to overspin a lead core to the point of coming apart?

Shouldn’t have issues. Even if i drop down to a 107 grain I should still be right around 300,000 but planning to stick around the 115-116 area of bullets

Interesting. Weird that Sierra hasn't published a BC for the 131TGK coming out next month. Wonder how it compares to the 116.

I just searched TMK on sierras website and the 25 cal one is the only one that doesn’t show up anymore. Wonder if they tabled the idea?

Must be a website issue, I'm seeing it if you sort under .257 caliber.

Edit: I think I see the problem. The .25 is a TGK, not a TMK.

Well there was originally a .25 TMK in the works too

10rounds of 107tmk at 3100fps. Only 18 rounds down the barrel so will speed up still

I would guess you have plenty of speed to go if you really want to step on them. My 25-6.5 gets a tick under 3500 with H1000 under the 95gr. Hammer HHT. The 6mm 89gr. Hammer HBC has a similar BC to the TMK and you'd probably easily be in the 3600 range, if you are so inclined. Hammer's 104gr. HHT even posts an estimated G7 BC better than the TMK but that seems... optimistic.
