Well, another chukar season has come to an end. Overall the season was a success with many days of quality chukar hunting. This weekend was wet and windy making for some difficult hunting. Gusting winds had scent coming from all different directions. My German Shorthaired Pointer, Rudy, was frustrated with the birds inability to hold for point. They were definitely acting like late-season birds. Most of the coveys would flush wild 50 to 75 yards ahead of us. I made a point to take more pictures this weekend. So here you go.20200125_131533.jpg

Rudy finally finds a bird that will hold tight.

Hoping for a good spring hatch and weather that promotes good chick survival for next year.

Great pictures!
Thanks, it is amazing what an old Samsung phone can do. Wish I had a nice camera to use, but then I would really piss Rudy off if I didn't shoot one of his pointed birds.

Thanks for sharing! Jealous you had an additional weekend. I can't wait for next season, I finally feel like I figured out to how to lead and actually hit these rocket bomber birds haha

Where do you reside in Idaho? I can point you in lots of chukar places now that dad and I do not raise gsp anymore thus we don’t Chukar hunt anymore.
Matt
