RIP David Allen Coe, my son just texted me a few minutes ago and said David passed about an hour ago

I’ve Always loved country music, but I didn’t discover his music till my 50s. I got into David right at the end.

Really enjoy just the rawness of his country music don’t make them like that no more

First “concert” I ever went to; him and Williams Jr. me n my buddy were in middle school, mom had no idea thinking we were just going to a “country concert” although my dad knew where we were headed!!

We saw him in 1981 in OKC , for about ten minutes , them a riot broke out and they cleared the building , always liked his music .

I grew up on outlaw/classic country. This one hurts. There’s really not anybody left now, except Willie.

He also wrote Take this Job and Shove It. One of the biggest country hits of all time.

I saw a headline that probably summed up the news of his passing the best.

“Well it was all that I could do to keep from crying.”

Saw him play in a bar outside of Chanute AFB, Rantoul IL in 1991 or 92. When I told people I was going to the concert there was quite a few that were concerned for my safety. "There will be outlaw bikers and thugs at that place" they said. Saw both but the concert was fantastic and only one guy got beat up and thrown out cause he needed to go. Grateful that I was able to see a legend in such a small intimate venue. Don't remember him doing much if any of the "X" rated stuff.

With a life long hearing problem I could seldom understand the words of most songs due to loud instruments that covered the singers voice. Not so with David, he was always a favorite. RIP buddy.
