My neighbor txt’d me the other day that there was a bison on the golf course. I know of a couple of bison ranches in the area, but they are 15 miles away as the crow flies, with some major highways in between. Seemed weird he was out there by himself. Still a mystery where he came from or if he’s been recovered yet.

Not anymore. Turns out there’s another ranch that I wasn’t aware of a bit closer - still 8 miles away though. It’s a bison hunting ranch. He’s now been recovered and is back inside his fenced home waiting for someone to pay $10k to come shoot him.

I agree. I've seen a few strange velvet bucks, but these were unreal. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Especially in May! The length of the spike was insane, and I don't even know how many points the other buck had on that head.
