....ALL DAY..... O-town and me watched Season one from beginning to end today. Thats all we did today. It was a GREAT day. That's ALL we did today.. besides a nap. And this post ;)

Now it's on to Shrek IV and some evening loving....

But the best part was the OYOA show. ALL DAY !!!!

HAHA... Something like that. A few Guys joke about it on here but you probably don't want to go toe to toe with my "stats" ;)

My favorite part of the Video's is Every Guest is Big Fins best friend and he tries to hunt with them once every year if he can. :D

On a serious note, I was choked up like a wuss when he got the Bow Elk. I thought back over the many times I've put a critter down in the evening and thought ALL NIGHT about it.

It was great to sit down, uninterupted and watching a great show back to back. I'm excited to watch Season 2 real soon the same way. O-Town has been studying out of state hunts, Odds and pricing. He wants to watch hunting shows and do more research. So when he told me he wanted to watch all the episodes back to back I thought it was just another thing I could do with him to spend time doing what we both love.

For this promo plug, I think I need to give you and O-Town a big discount on the Season Two DVD. ;)

If i knew I'd get discounts from you for saying something nice, I'd have started long ago instead of badmouthing you all the time.. ;)

I was surprised not to see GreenHorn in the bear episode, Although I did see his name in the credits. Bart did a good job.

Looking forward to Season 2 (Even though you're filming season 4 *sigh* I guess it's OK to be a little behind, I'm used to it ;) )

Never too late to change a bad habit. ;)

Yeah, he taught me the difference between a sow and a cub. Kept me from making a fool of myself on TV, so I figured I better thank him publicly.

Nope, only filming Season Three now. Got one episode left - AK black bear.

Randy11 gave me a copy of Season 1 to watch when I was up that way last month. Gotta say it was a good show but I did have some things that made me roll my eyes.

1. The host did the same "creepy walk towards the camera and holding piece of grass" move each time.
2. For a public land hunting show most of the time was spent too much time talking about it even though most episodes you guys were basically sitting on the fence leading to private land.

I'm also niave to the private land issue since there is so little of it in AZ that you never really have to worry about waiting for animals to cross certain fences before you can shoot them.

I'm still looking forward to seeing Season 2 at some point. Just hope the host doesn't weird me out this time :)

Too much talking? I'll admit that season 2 is smoother than 1 and I'm sure 3 will be even better but you really only have 21 minutes of air time to put a 5 day hunt together on film. I believe part of Randy's shows will always have some brief instructional and possibly some explanation to help you understand the story. I've been impressed that at least this show when there is talking they are actually talking about the hunt at hand. Watch other shows and you'll see what I mean.

With that said I agree that some of it was choppy but for a first season it was pretty darn good (5 different nominations for awards) going against the barbies and their husbands.

As far as the host creeping you out, I can't help you there. I know he's a straight guy and surely wouldn't of wanted you to have any such feelings;) He's actually a well known guy in the industry and currently produces the most popular duck show and few others including this one.

I would think that in the units that are close to the reservations in Arizona it would be great hunting. Same situation elsewhere. It's no secret that usually private land holds more animals due too lack of pressure, so it makes sense to hunt close to those areas catching the animals moving back and forth. Just another public land tactic I guess.

Hopefully you'll like season 2 better. There's always room for improvement and I know Randy is somewhat of a perfectionist. I can't wait to see all of his hunts this year especially the NM elk at 2 yds:eek:

I actually liked the dude explaining it. He gave some insight. He's a Typical Montana Jean wearing, belt buckle toating, grass holding Good ol boy.... But without the Stupid Southern Accent. YAh, I offended 100 people with that comment but seriously !!!

So for every liker there is a unliker and every lover there is a hater. I pretty much liked it all .... except that Bart character ... ;)

An OYOA day sounds good. I have been telling the wife about season 1 & 2 for X-mas ideas to send me. I got the presents sent, but am waiting impatiently to open them. I guess if worse comes to worse, I'll treat myself to a "New Years" present. :D

I usually pick up little things on each episode after watching it more than once. Randy has the OYOA moxy and really presents himself well as an average sportsman with determination.

Just read back though my post and realized I probably came on a little too tough. Was trying to rouse a little humor and conversation.

I did indeed like the show and want to get my hands on Season 2.

No offence to the host, but I think that Randy would be a better fit. It would give him that extra few seconds to explain the hunt. Randy isn't that hard to look at. :) I think his excitement for telling about the hunt would shine through. Grass toting host or Randy...I'm a fan.

Hey HOMO, Randy doesn't swing the way you do....

I personally like that Randy talks durring the hunting part of the show, and does the hunt, and someone else set's it up. A Way better fit. Not that I don't like Big Fin but an hour of just him ? Seiously ?!?!! Not so much.... although he's not hard to look at ;)

I like the host. I think he does a good job. At least he knows what he is talking about and is actually a pretty dedicated hunter.

Plus, he pays my wife's salary..so I better not say anything bad about him!

Good.... Then I won't have to lend him my season 2 dvd. Can I have my season 1 now that you are done with it, Moosie.
