Adventure vs success.

I went to Alaska for the first time this fall and the bug is as bad as they say. I'm probably going back again in the next two years, and planning now. I went guided this year but the next time will either be DIY or an outfitted drop.

My question is, do most of you choose what to do with your precious time off based on the odds of success, such as drop hunt in a heavily populated moose or caribou area, with high harvest rates, or would you rather have more of an adventure and do a float hunt? Way More work, but also, in my mind more exciting...

Merely having the means to actually go to Alaska and hunt if you were to draw is enough for me to recommend you do whatever it is you would like to do most on your trip. Any extra work, if prepared, is a non issue, if it adds to the overall experience of the adventure
