Rat Fink and I headed up to a spot where he, myself and tjones all drew the limited entry hunt. We saw lots of deer, but nothing worth getting excited about. Damned wolves have eaten all the deer on the highline too.

Other than the snake, all we saw were a couple of turkeys and a porcupine. That's it. Nothing else.

That was a great scouting trip. Beautiful country and I'm really looking forward to hunting it this fall.

One thing I was really happy with was the Theron Saker spotting scope I picked up from Predator Optics. For a general use mostly from the truck or bench, piece of utilitarian glass, it is a great value.

I really don't think you can go wrong with that spotter. Grea glass for the price and it's fairly light as well.

I love the Theron Wapiti's I bought this spring.

I know you guys will have great hunts. I hope to pull that one someday. I don't remember, you guys all rifle? Season? Any scouting from the water?

I drew 3rd week rifle. Early November. We didn't get down to the water. Mostly watching From up top and figuring out the access situation.

It should be a hunt to remember. Definitely a great purchase by FWP.

I drew that tag the past 2 years in a row...archery. Didn't apply this year because I'm chasing a buck I found last year on a friends ranch. Used to hunt the south side also back in the 90's. Helped mtlion last fall. Note: lots of rattle snakes and ran into a griz sow n 2 cubs! If you have any questions, feel free to hit me up.

Just like us, you didn't see any deer worth killing. Just snakes and bears and trash everywhere. Downright inhospitable place.

Will definitely be hitting you up for info.
