I mean, it's fairly accurate if you use the original definition:

Original 1800s Meaning: Coined in New York City around the 1880s—likely linked to "Yankee Doodle"—it originally mocked an overly fashionable man, a dandy, or a "city slicker" visiting the American West (which inspired terms like "dude ranches")
