The lake we use to access our cabin has a huge beaver dam that when it's plugged it floods for miles upstream. My son and me went down to open it up a bit. Our local wildlife biologists are encouraging beaver reductions especially near salmon streams and its a great place for moose so a nice day out.
After opening up a couple spillways it's time to relax a bit. My pants got wet so I put them stretched out on the blueberry bushes to dry in the sunshine n crawl up on the large beaver house and do an Alaskan version of sunbathing. After a hailstorm from nowhere appeared we grabbed a tarp n headed for the big spruce behind the beaver dam. Where we were greeted by a pair of yellow finches. Trying to figure out what the heck we were. Probably never saw a human.
Got a short break from the worst lightning n made a break for it . We headed up the creek n across the lake, near 1-1/2 miles of paddling into the wind we made it to our wheeler.
Hooked up the coleman canoe n headed 2 miles north to the cabin n dropped the canoe. We snuck on over to my favorite spot in the world over looking mom's pond. I named it after my beautiful wife. To where I called in his first moose. 58" non typical. Just in time to get the second wave off this thunderstorm.
As it passed I snapped this picture. Along with a couple others. Including me hunting bear 20210317_114745.jpg20200826_202103.jpg20200827_150825.jpg79C64E49-44AB-4251-9912-26755EAED3C8.jpeg20210311_075824.jpg
