I was fortunate enough to draw a moose tag this fall even though it was in the wrong area. After scouting the new area, I was satisfied that I could get a good moose and did. Elk was a cold opener, but I got a unique drop horn bull and later a calf for some more freezer filler.
With a couple doe deer tags I got some more needed meat. Antelope was a thin hunt, but I did manage to find a decent buck. Holding on to my deer tag as long as I could to keep the season going, I wanted to shoot a big buck with the new 270 I got this fall. I also wanted to shoot the buck with a Winchester 1895 I had gotten earlier this year, so I took both rifles hunting deer.
At the end of the fall hunting season, I realize how fortunate I was this fall to get so much hunting in and lots of success. Bird hunting was great throughout the fall and I was able to get plenty of a mixed bag of grouse, pheasant, sharptail and Hungarian Partridge. I still have a turkey tag, so I guess I better get back out there...
