I have a 6.5 cm shooting 129grain bergers. Another shooting 129gr Hornady whitetail. Both have been very deadly on deer with no issues. They either dropped in there tracks or under 10yds. I have one set up with 143 gr eldx and a suppressor. Used on a recent Caribou hunt. A junior wanted to use a suppressor so I gave him I let him use this set up. He sat with me and shot a doe at a little over 300yds. It ran towards us. He shot again. It then turned and ran into the woods. I searched the field. No blood that I could find. It was a turnup field with large leaves I should have seen it easily. I walked into the woods where it went. It was dead 100yds inside. Shot number 1 was tucked perfect behind the should and exited about the same. Size and location. Shot number 2 was back 6 inches and exited tighter to the shoulder. Exist and entry similar. When we gutted it the inside were a big jello mess. But had we not been on a field I am not sure we could have tracked it thru the woods. Anyone else ever see this? I was a big critic of the 6.5 but have changed sides. The other bullets have been great. ELDX not so much

Not a fan of the ELDx. I’ve seen that jello too many times. Most of the time tracking wasn’t required, they dropped in sight. But, when tracking was needed there was never much on the ground. Always the jello mess, like a hand grenade when off inside.

I use the 127g Barnes LRX now and it seems to liquify the internals and leave a 3/4” exit. I’ve had some run but the blood was pouring out.

140 grain Accubond and 142 grain ABLR have worked great for me.
143 grain eldx worked great on an antelope a couple years ago, but they’re pretty fragile animals.
I’m gonna give the 130 grain ABs a try this year. I’m expecting good performance from them, as well.

I just watched my partner drop 4 animals with 6.5CM and 143 eld-x's from 200 to 400 yards. I'd have no hesitation shooting Elk with it at 400, 500 with the new + Peak ammo.

Till you have to find one the next day because it ran into regrowth and there was no blood. Been there, done that, won’t ever do it again.

I’m not a fan, but my cuz uses them. Killed 15 animals. 5 were elk. Out to 421 yards. All were perfectly placed. No tracking involved and no follow up shots required. I’m still not a fan but his results as of now are undeniable.

I’ve had the opposite experience. shot a fair number of animals with Eldx (mainly 6.5 143) and have never had issues. I can remember 3 elk,a caribou, 3 rams, 4 deer, and 5 antelope. Farthest one ran was maybe 60 yards. Shot distance 20 yards out to 530yds. Exits on all the rams/deer/antelope. On the elk only 1 of the 3 exited.

I shot a bull 2 times at 285 yards this season. No exit wounds. He also only moved 20 yards from the first shot so there was no tracking. It was midnight before we got him hung up and back to back so I was too tired to do any autopsy.

I have shot a bunch of deer with that round over the last few seasons. Never have needed a follow up. 200-300 yards. I believe I got a pass through on all of them.

We've shot a bunch of elk/deer with the 145 (.270 Win) and 143 (6.5 Creed), I've always been impressed with how they perform. I think sometimes guys blame the bullet when they make a shitty shot....

I dont understand the expectation that any bullet would all but guarantee a good blood trail? I dont think the ELDx is the holy grail in terminal performance by any stretch but it seems like some people have unrealistic expectations.
