@brocksw have you towed with the Ecoboost or new turbo 6 from Toyota?
Been a passenger in both (and both the 3.5 and 2.7 from Ford) while towing and I’ve driven both without a trailer (excluding the 2.7).

Both the 3.4 and the 3.5 are really nice trucks, totally capable of doing what I want to do. In fact, both would be a significant improvement over my 2nd gen in terms of towing ability. The 2.7 was working too hard to be a towing rig imo. But I’m still a little reluctant to buy a truck with turbos. I want simple and hassle free and the confidence to know I can own the truck for 10+ years without major repairs. Hard to beat a naturally aspirated v8 for that.

We have a small family owned Ford dealership in town. Been doing business with them for decades. We have had F250 with the V-10, F150 Eco Boost with air bags, 2 F250s with 6.7 diesel, and currently have 2 F250s with 7.3 gas ( 2020 and 2022 both have about 76,000 miles). Trailers are : 14’ X 7’ tandem cargo trailer, 2 horse with living quarters gooseneck, and a 20’ Lund Alaskan. The V-10 was a gas hog nightmare. The F150 could not handle the horse trailer. The diesels were great but expensive maintenance and fuel. The 7.3’s are doing everything well for us. We only lost 1-2 mpg towing with them over the diesels.
