My father in law gifted my son a Weatherby Vanguard in 257 Weatherby Mag for his birthday. I would love to load some 92 grain hammer hunters for him.

Anyone have experience they would be willing to share with that combo?

For reference I've been loading 90gr Absolute Hammers in my 25-06 over IMR-4350 and get up to 3650 fps before I start getting pressure signs. Not sure about Weatherby cartridges, but the 25-06 really prefers "4350 class" powders for bullets in that weight range. I've also run R-17, H4350 and Norma URP all with similar velocities and results.

The absolutes were much faster but the groups blossomed.
