Well, I bought the Bushmaster Varmit special, and am looking for a deal on a scope (4.5X14X50). Now I need to know a good load to start with. Bullet style and weight, primers, powders. I've been reloading for 35 years, and have loaded for semi-autos before (.308), but never the .223.

I always used Blc 2 (hogden )for my ars also there was another one I think is was 748? been a long time since I loaded 223, I need to sooncause I have one 30 round clip left

with the ARs using a harder GI type primer is a good idea, they will slam fire. 748, H-335, AA-2230, AA2460 are powders that have given me good luck. As far as bullets, what twist barrel do you have?

26.4 grains of BLC-2, CCI SRM primer in Winchester brass, 53 grain Match hollow point by Hornady. Prints under 05 inches at 100 yds. in several rifles. Been shooting this load for years. Prairie Dogs hate it.

50g Nosler Ballistic Tip, 26g Benchmark, Fed primer Lapua brass, awesome round. hump

Look out bunny:eek:
