Well it’s that time of year again, breeding season. I am taking reservations for my 2026 pack goat babies. All babies parents are on site. Beautiful tall pure Alpine. I have 2 spots for 97% pure American Alpine 3% laMancha,. I have 2 spots for 56% Alpine, 19% Saanen, 19%Boer, 6% Oberhasli. I have 2 spots for 75%Alpine, 25% Ober kids(Dwight Sharp genetics).I have a reservation fee that is non refundable of $150, remaining $350 due on pickup per kid. I raise proven packers, I have 14 years of pack goat experience, packed in 4 states, 100% clean herd.

which cross tends to have the biggest males
Depends what you’re looking for, the Saanen and boer crosses seem to be thicker, but they get just as tall as the pure Alpine. I can pretty much point out when they are born which ones are gonna be thicker and which ones will be on the thinner side like a Alpine.

I’m still trying to convince the wife into a couple pack goats. Told her they can be companions for her Boer buck when he’s not turned out with the does.

decisions,,,, my acerage is not goat proof yet,,,,
Well my entire place is not goat proof, I did 1 strand of hot wire around pasture, I have about a 1/4 acre they live in that has hog wire around it with there goat houses w a gate I open and close morning and night for the pasture. Simple and affordable,

How many should a guy consider having for packing a camp and meat?
A average 225lb bull elk and a 65 lb camp, 1 trip, 6 goats, I pack nothing except bow/binos. If you want to carry camp then 4 goats is what I recommend. When I first started I packed with 3 and that seemed sufficient but it’s hard on the goats carrying that much weight,
