2026 Garden

Turning frozen tomatoes from 2025 into pasta sauce tonight. Also our cold room wasn’t properly insulated so I added some insulation to the walls. Wow that made a world of difference. Should help the potatoes last longer now

Well now I'm in the camp of yall cold weather people I guess. Garden beds covered in snow/ice since Saturday and another wave coming this weekend. Barely above freezing most days. Just when I was getting excited about getting peas and potatoes in.

Going to start a garden this year. Put some extra topsoil and grass mulch on a 36' x 48' area last year. Will need to fence it this spring to keep the deer out. Snow peas, lettuce, carrots, parsnips, tomatoes, chard, squash, and maybe corn for first yea
You should consider a winter cover crop to help break down all those amendments That have been added.

The slow release calcium line was a joke. I just don't have a place to put all the junk after moving. I need sell some antlers this spring! Also too busy this fall to plant a cover crop. I would of had to water it as well, since this area gets very little precipitation, and then the weeds would have been my cover crop.
