2026 Colorado Draw Results

Issue is, not many B cow tags depending on what part of the state you are in.
I have been whining to the local biologists and some other key CPW personnel that are making the license allocations decisions about changing back some of the cow tags to "B" tags. Everyone is complaining about overcrowding, but when cow tags are a "B" tag, many bull holders will also buy a cow tag. So essentially you could have one hunter with two tags for the same season, or you adjust and be like me and now I will have an "A" tag and "B" and hunt 2 separate seasons that ultimately contributes to overcrowding.

your right, with drawing a "a" tag in the primary as a 2nd choice ,the computerized system will not let me try for another "a" tag in the secondary draw. There were a few good options i was gonna try for and if i drew, try to exchange my current tag ,but the computer system wouldn't let me try in the secondary draw for any other "a" tags automatically,,dang, just wanted to see if i might get lucky enough to draw a better tag without loosing my current 2nd choice tag. Now my only option is whether the unit 12,25,33,34 units are worth picking up a bear tag at $302 as a option, are there pretty good bears in that area?1st season 5 days isn't a very long season for a elk and a bear

Likely donated another $22+ to CPW, but here’s hoping I get to go back to CO this fall… can always travel 18 hours to small game hunt, at least 😏

Put in for a bear tag in the secondary draw in the same unit as my elk tag. Hopefully can draw that, and use that as an excuse to get some September scouting in for first rifle under the guise of bear hunting.

Always find it interesting how many kids apparently hunt with bow or muzzy let alone backcountry early deer.
Why is that hard to believe? 12-17 year olds are eligible for the “kids” tags, 14-17 year olds do just fine in the mountains and shooting a muzzleloader or a bow is no big trick, just takes a little practice.

My daughter at 16 on a secondary draw muzzleloader hunt:

My son took advantage of a great cow elk muzzy tag. We killed the first morning and I hope many more kids and parents gets that. He’s aged out and I’m good with getting no more secondary tags. Hope many more get memories like we did.
