2025 Sask WT adventures

Things have been extremely slow here. So far this has been my worst year for mule deer and whitetail.

Usually by the end of archery season, I've passed several bucks and have tons of good bucks on camera. So far this year, nothing! Doe #s are way down and barely any bucks making appearances on cam...

I have saw more deer goose scouting this fall than the last few. Need a few more easy winters here. Don’t have the CWD issues like you do down there

Between CWD and a few bad winters, the deer are getting the crap kicked out of them. Last year was absolutely brutal. 2-3 feet of snow by 19 November and it didn't stop after that. Pretty harsh conditions post-rut when those bucks have spent a considerable amount of energy chasing tail...

Hoping this winter has low precipitations...

Yes last winter we missed the big dumps off the start and thankfully it broke in March. But before it broke it was up to the elbows on a deer. The last 4-5 years had more bad winters than easy. I fear this will be a bad one. Last two weeks we got about 2” of rain and a couple inches of snow so far today. Seems like it’s been a wet start to winter. Give me April/May rain not 6’ of snow lol

I know the track is a bit melted and stepping on itself some too but dang that still a big track. Was a great day of scouting. Got a bait out in this small bush but forgot the blind at home. The deer are moving through this small bush like crazy and quite a few scrapes in here
