What kind of fall prep do you do to make Spring easier?

Just pulled up the asparagus patch. Nice big mound on the brush pile for the rabbits to hide in. Now the stuff will feed me in two ways!

What kind of fall prep do you do to make Spring easier?

My main goal was to dog proof my garlic and onions from getting dug up. If this dosen't work concertina wire is next.

What kind of fall prep do you do to make Spring easier?

Nothing too fancy. Pull all roots/stalks, pick any visible rocks out, spread around discarded produce to bump up volunteer likelihood. When/if I have access to fresh livestock manure, I’ll till that in the fall, so it’s not too “hot” right before planting.

Seems like there's always something to do. Pulled a gallon and a half of blackberries out of the freezer yesterday and made 8 jars of jam and a couple blackberry custard pies. Still another 1/2 gallon for when I'm in the mood for more pies
Also planted a few small hybrid chestnut trees in the back yard for the deer and squirrels.
