2025 Colorado Bighorn Sheep Hunt

Okay. We stopped to try to turn him up again the angle is getting bad. Trying to decide if we both go after him or if we do it like opening morning and he stays back with eyes on him while I go in the last mile or so.

Doing the measuring on the topo map last night he was only 150 yards from the last blood. Most likely he circled back around but still he is not moving much at all.

We have all day and are going to play it safe.

Last time we saw him he was still in the same spot but had turned around. He was at 715 yards but a drop of about 500’ of elevation and a climb of 1,000’. Don’t want to go straight at him anyway. Probably going to side hill up from him and come in on him but that is completely blind.

Patience seems to pay off more than I expect, over and over, but man I’d be in a hurry. He doesn’t sound dead, and if he manages any sort of recovery, I’d think he would want to be a very long way from where he just got shot.

But again, patience seems to pay when I think it won’t, and rushing things often screws things up.

I’m looking forward to updates!

Starting to worry me with 3hrs with no update. Makes me think they couldn't relocate him...

Been on the edge of my seat for days. So grateful to be living this hunt from that seat. You’re going about this the right way. Patience is key. Been there and gone through this with a couple animals myself. Key is never give up as long as there is a slim chance of recovery.

Just shot him again. 145 yards off sticks, surely I couldn’t have missed.

Heard some crashing in some thick trees then nothing. I can see above him pretty good and he didn’t come out up there. Guide was spotting and didn’t see him come out below.

Haven’t heard anything since the initial noise. Nothing like if he had run off I don’t think.

Pretty sure he is down in those thick trees but going to give him a bit before doing anything.

Will take the guide at least an hour to get over here.

I’ve got my rifle and eyes on the area he was last. Just going to sit for a bit.
