the Div 2 championship will hopefully be a better game than A&M vs Miami. Both my kids went there, a few miles from the home. Great school for Optometry and Pharmacy. The head coach has been mentioned in lower level groups to at least interview for the Michigan job. Tone Anese. He wins. Google him. And the QB for Ole Miss Trinidad Chambliss won the D2 natty at Ferris State last season.

This Tulane green wave @ Ole Miss rebel shark bears game is brutal in the exact opposite way of the UM @ ATM game. Huge disparity in speed, size, and talent. This is not the type of team that was intended to be let in when they setup the rules to allow the lower tier schools in the auto berths.

I get your point and mostly agree, but Notre Dame also kind of did this to themselves- a conference championship game sure would have helped them this year.

Or a different selection process. Top 12 ranked teams. Period.

Or expand to 16 and let in the 2nd tier conference champs to get pummeled.

Yeah I don’t agree how the Irish gave a hearty F-U to the entire bowl process but (as a Ducks fan) this is like having a AAA baseball team in the MLB playoffs.

This is what my fear would be of expanding to 16.

The goal of the playoff is to find out who is the true National Champion. I get teams feeling screwed out of the 8th spot or whatever, but if you’re on that bubble you’re likely not the best team in the country.
