I’m a Mississippi State grad and fan. I almost feel sorry for Ole Miss about the Lane Kiffin situation…almost.
I grew up about 30 miles from starkville and have always been an ole miss fan, so I can understand you 'almost' feeling sorry for us.

The Ole Miss to LSU seems like a lateral move , the grass is greener where you water it ! He had it rolling at Ole Miss, is he really gonna get a better recruiting class that’s way better at LSU I don’t see it .
If you think Ole Miss and LSU is a lateral move, you must be too busy polishing your ducks’ natl title trophies to know the difference. Oh wait… 🤣

As per SI:

"ESPN’s Pete Thamel is reporting Kiffin’s deal with LSU is for seven years and is worth ā€œapproximatelyā€ $12 million per year. That seven-year, $84 million deal would make Kiffin one of the highest-paid coaches in college football. It is a significant raise on Kiffin’s contract with the Rebels, where he was making $9 million a year."

If I am not mistaken ole miss was willing to match any financial offer that lsu made.

@rebjfan I read today that Kiffin’s dog, Juice, who had his own social media, wasn’t even Kiffin’s. He is owned by a local kennel and is still in Oxford. If true, that is crazy!

I was listening to local sports talk this afternoon and they did say the dog was owned by a local kennel. I don't know about any social media account.

I don’t have instagram or twitter, but the dog has or had an account.IMG_2633.png

For him to be putting the entire organization as a whole on notice that he was going to make a decision on what he was going to do is ridiculous. He left for another SEC team, just so he could be paid higher. It sounds like Ole Miss was willing to pay him to. Then wanting to stay and coach the team, I would tell him hell no too. There is no loyalty anymore to an institution, whether it's players or coaches. It's always about the almighty dollar and who has the deepest pockets.

I also would collect his access badge and walk him out of the building. He has a new job that requires signing high school players this week! As if he will recruit any of those kids to Ole Miss. If he is allowed to coach out the season then wins the Natty then does that make kids want to attend Ole Miss? No. The glow of that win packs its suitcase for LSU.

Coach made a choice. Fallout is expected and warranted for each staff member who is no longer in the building this week. Those adults made it clear how they compare their career path vs loyalty to the remaining season of Ole Miss players/fans/alum/donors. I have no opinion on good/bad/evil/karma. I do feel is making college that much closer to when needs to dump the student/athlete illusion and any concept loyalty is to be expected by anyone in top college sports programs.

Make it official. College is the minor league for the NFL. Just as with MLB's minor league there will be a handful make it to the Bigs. Why make athletes attend class? Instead, offer them 5 years of free tuition after they finish up eligibility as a pro athlete wearing the school's uniform. So are an athlete then later down the road can be a student.

Ducks lost their OC to be the HC of Kentucky and sounds like our DC is gonna be the new Cal Bears HC …… can’t not see how that won’t affect my Ducks in the playoffs, our players are used to those guys being around

Oh the joy of musical chairs of the coaching ranks
