and this is why most gamblers always lose. I hope the Ducks don't actually feel that way like you do - it's a sure way to ensure you lose.
I’m a fan not a player, Oregon has one of the youngest and most talented teams in football and everybody comes back next year , a bunch of those kids this will be their first big game ever ,

The majority of the different college football shows that I listen to, and basically said similar things that the pressure is on PSU it’s a must win game for them. They have to have this one.

At the beginning of the season, I just expected Oregon to lose this game after watching them for four games. I feel that Oregon is talented enough. They have a chance, but I’m not gonna get over my skis on this game being a maker break to Oregon season, my prediction was Oregon goes 10 -2 and makes the playoffs this year and returns everybody and makes a serious national championship run next year, but they started so good and QB Dante was playing such as an elite high-level out the gate it got everyone’s attention that we might be able to shock some people this year, so we’ll see

I’m excited to see our young kids perform in a hostile environment and I know that Coach Lanning has been preaching that pressure is a privilege to this team all week ,

Oregon’s starters have only played 2 1/2 to 3 qtrs in the first four weeks of the season after boot stomping everybody so I’m excited to actually watch an entire game of high intensity football, get the young guys real experience, and possibly steal one ā˜ļø

The one stat that explodes off the page when looking at both of these teams and listening to all the different people on talk shows that have broken down Penn State and Oregon that shows me that there might be a major concern in Penn State’s offense that has not been exposed yet this season

Drew Allar is 2-9 on pass plays of over 20 yards , Penn State has played a weaker schedule than Oregon and their wide receivers couldn’t get open over the top against inferior talent

Oregon has had 31 plays of over 20 yards in the first four games and 7 different wide receivers have caught passes of 20 yards or more against their weaker competition

The Penn State wide receivers not being able to get open deep is the one thing that seems to just jump off the page at me

Under Dan Lanning no Oregon Starter has left since NIL , they’ve retained every single player , which is a crazy stat
I think that's a misleading stat. The people who graduate, go to the NFL etc. leave holes. At least some of those who Oregon might think was going to be their starter the next year, will leave or have left.

For instance, Dont'e Thornton Jr left Oregon for Tennessee after playing quite a bit at Oregon as Freshman and as a Sophomore. Maybe he wasn't technically the starter, but I bet Oregon was going to play him at Oregon even more that next year as a Jr. The next year, he transferred to Tennessee. I think he was good enough to play at any college with great speed. He had a season ending injury early in the season, then had a pretty successful year at Tennessee the next year. He's now a Wide Receiver for the Raiders as a fourth round pick. I'm sure there are other cases. I just know about that because he played at Tennessee.

I get that, I knew there was second and third string guys that left to look for a chance to start elsewhere or guys that left for the NFL . Oregons just hasn’t lost a key starter to a different college was basically what I was referencing

Tale of the tape, Oregon vs Penn St
I looked a little closer on stats leading up to this game.

Rushing

Oregon PSU
1021 yds 581 yds
6.72 yds per rush 5.53 yds per
14 TD 9 TD
38 att per game 35 att per game
255 yds a game 193 yds a

QB’s

Moore Allar
962 yds 626 yds
74.7 comp per 64.8 comp per
10.1 yd avg. 7.1 yds avg
65 yd long pass 42 long pass
11 TD 4 TD
1 INT 1 INT
195.9 qb rating 137.3 qb rating

Defense

Ducks #12 PSU #9
435 rush yds 302 rush yds
480 pass yds 370 pass yds
4.05 yds per play 3.59 yds per play
226 total plays 187 total plays
228 yds per game 224 yds per game

After looking under the hood , I’m feeling more comfortable with an Oregon upset tomorrow, all the talk has been about Penn State’s rushing game against Oregonā€˜s defense, and the stats are almost identical

Oregon has avg a 1 yd more per carry and 60 more rushing yds a game per game

Oregons QB has played on a higher lvl
And the difference between PSU/DUCKS defense is a half yd per play and 4 yds allowed per game !!!

Completely explains why it’s only a field goal difference on Penn State’s home field. I think Oregon has the faster more talented wide receivers a better quarterback and the defenses are playing about even we got a shot. We got a shot. I’m fired up. Hope everybody enjoys the game.
Goooooo Ducks šŸ¦†

Neither team has played real competition. Did your opinion change based on looking at the stats?

Considering the competition so far and early season, it's a toss up. I think most people would have been surprised that FSU was going to lose to Virginia, but they did. Probably means Bama is having a long day against Georgia, but the transitive property doesn't really work in football.

Good luck.

Yes , looking deeper into the stats gave me more confidence, listening to the narrative oh Oregon allowed this last year in the run game when listening to national sports guys , and Northwestern ran for 178 on Oregon blah blah blah , but then looking closer ,

Oregon was up 34-0 on Northwestern western at the end of the 3rd qtr , when Oregon pulled its starters , the 3rd and 4th string guys gave up 115 yds in the 4th , meaning the starters gave up 63 yds rushing in 3 qtrs .

At the start of the season , I felt Oregon was gonna lose this game 100%. But after 4 games the closer I looked into the numbers for myself, I felt Oregon was playing a lot more dominant and I was being overly critical of their mistakes, example last week Oregon State scored at TD in the 1st qtr and ran the ball , i was thinking our run D is too weak for PSU , looked at the stats Oregon allowed 67 rush yds vs the BEAVS for the game and in 4 games Oregons starting Defense has only allowed 1 TD in the 1st 4 games the other 3 TD Oregon gave up the 3rd and 4th string guys gave up in garbage time

So looking at the numbers made me feel a lot more confident and that Oregon is actually playing a lot more dominant, and I was being way too critical of their mistakes,

The only difference in this game really is Oregon has a lot of freshmen. Who’ve never played in a hostile environment like this, and if those young guys don’t get rattled by the crowd and settle in Oregon’s player ratings are higher than Penn States , if Oregon can get through the emotions of the 1st qtr and be close , I like Oregon to win in the 2nd half

The other thing looking closer at the stats was, I realize Penn State’s offense has been unimpressive and has struggled against weaker competition, where Oregon is really flat dominated, and can Penn States offense against the best defensive competition They’ve faced all year all of a sudden just play dominant with the QB and wide receivers. I’m not sure about that.

Anyways, I’m just rambling and that’s my word salad of thoughts
