Your Vol hate aside ... the truth is Tennessee is the opposite. They are usually barely ranked in the top 25 early in the season.

Butch Jones didn't get fired because of losing to ranked teams. He lost to all kinds of teams.

They were ranked 3 of those final years (once in the top 10) - including 2017 when they were hot garbage. I dont think its a reach to say he lost a lot, and his team was rated highly preseason.

I think Franklin and PSU - accomplished a lot more than that even without a national championship.

Two loss Notre Dame: Ranked 13th. Those two losses: No.2 Miami + No. 4 Texas A&M.

Two loss Illinois: NR. Their two losses: No. 1 Ohio State + No. 3 Indiana.

I agree, but I think wins are more important than losses. In any case, it will work itself out over the next few weeks.

Sort of? I suppose if you ignore enough reality. Let me give you an example.

Ole miss has wins against literally no one except LSU. They squeaked by Washington state by 3 after a miraculous 4 q. Fortunately U Washington has them as a common opponent - they won that game by a lot more points (59-24, won by 35) than Ole miss scored against Wshst. you gonna tell me ole miss should be that high, and Wash should be unranked?

So the "rankings" arent exactly unbiased. Im glad the playoffs came around/expanded and the sec is finally having to play to win. The old system gifted them a championship game way too often. - and thats why the conference isnt the same anymore. Cause they arent given near as much for free.

The AP poll is a joke. Nebraska beat Cincinnati and they are behind them 1 spot. Michigan beat Nebraska and is NR.

I am proud of my rebels but I agree with you, they have only beaten who I think is a bad lsu team. The next two weeks will tell if they are for real or not.

I got to tease some Indiana fans in the airport yesterday, enjoy the win, your coach is leaving for PSU , better rally the boosters ……. Might not be true , but made me feel better, when you show you can coach, other elite programs try to steal your coach , it’s Indianas turn to sweat it out during a big program coaching search.

Was horrible as a Duck a few years back when Alabama made a run at Lanning. After losing our previous 2 coaches to Florida St & Miami

Even though I hated seeing Oregon lose, it sucked , I did quietly enjoy seeing the Hoosier fans around Saturday evening on campus enjoying the biggest win they’ve ever got to experience in their lifetime. After being a doormat in college football the past 50 years. It’s hard to win and it’s harder to stay a winning progrum.

Cuban finally got back involved and word is he donated a substantial amount to Hoosier athletics…. Save this post for when/if I’m wrong, but Cig seems like he wants to make IU a national powerhouse and not go anywhere. Fingers crossed…
