I decided to put a little more time into spring bear hunting this year compared to the last few in hopes of finding a spot that held a good amount of bears. I managed to sneak out after work a few times and hunt a few weekend days as well. I had glassed up a few different bears that seemed to be working the same drainage and decided to focus on it. A few inches of fresh snow made an interesting hunt the last evening out when I had my first encounter with this awesome chocolate bear. I was able to catch up to him again the next morning and made it count. I couldn’t be more pleased with my first MT bear!
