2015 Mule Deer hunt

I am planning a Montana mule deer hunt for next falol with a buddy of mine. This will be both of ours first trip. We have chosen Montana, now we're are trying to figure out what part of Montana to hunt. We want to hunt public land and attempt to do it as cheaply and successfully as possible. Amy direction for us would be greatly appreciated. As well as any tips or suggestions or advice. Thanks!

As much as a deer tag costs, I'd strongly consider buying the combo tag for deer and elk to maximize your chance for success..

It doesn't really matter to us what part of Montana we hunt. We want to find the most public land and a district with high deer population. We are looking at 608, 701, 704, and 706 currently
